1 The Power of Love “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God” (I John 4:7)

2 God is the Power “For love is from God” (I John 4:9)
“For God is love” (8,16) “The love of God was manifested” (9) “He loved us” (10) “If God so loved us” (11) “His love is perfected in us” (12,17) “He first loved us” (19)

3 Love of God Manifested “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us” (I Jn. 3:16) “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” (I Jn. 4:9)

4 Love Begins with the Father
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (I John 4:10) “We love Him because He first loved us” (I John 4:19)

5 We are to Abide in God’s Love
“God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him” (I John 4:16) “But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him” (I John 2:5)

7 Love One Another “Beloved, let us love one another” (I John 4:7)
“If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen” (4:20)

8 Commandment from Him “And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also” (4:21) “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments” (I John 5:2)

9 Obey the Truth In Sincere Love (I Peter 1:22,23)
“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,” “having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God…”
