1 Transitions Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5

2 To insert a transition Put two video tracks on the same line, back to back Locate the Video Transitions folder in the Effects palette Drag the Transition to the line between tracks

3 Now, click on the transition to tweak it…
Click Show Actual Sources so you can see what’s going on…

4 Now, you can adjust the duration of the transition (usually defaults to 1.0 seconds) by dragging the beginning and ending point or typing in a number You’ll see a preview of where your transition begins and ends in the sources box

5 Removing a Transition To remove it, just click the transition marker on the timeline and then press delete on the keyboard

7 To create a PIP effect This is where the video is smaller and positioned someplace (think newscaster) You can access the effect under the Effects panel, Presets, PiPs

8 Making it happen… Put the “baby video” on a higher line that what you want to fill the frame Put the other video below it (can be video, still picture, title, etc.)

9 Drag the PiP effect onto the clip
Note the meanings--25% means it is a quarter of the size, UL means upper left, etc. This alters the “motion” on the effect of the video—click Motion Notice it modified the position and the scale

10 Preview You can modify the scale or position manually after applying the effect Just click and drag the sliders
