Wed. 10/31- Happy Halloween- parade at 10:00- ½ day 11:30
Students may wear their costumes to school - no masks until the parade and no weapons at all.
11/1- Picture Retakes
This week we will be reviewing our addition and subtraction strategies. With some fun Halloween papers. You can practice at home, even at dinner such as you have 8 green beans, if you eat four how many are left?
Also, please try to practice writing to 120 and orally counting to 120. This is fun and easy to
do in the car.
We will be reading “The Farmer in the Hat.” The genre of this story is Animal Fantasy. Our phonics skill is long a and c making the s sound and g saying j. Our comprehension skill is cause and effect.
This week we be finishing our spider unit. Students should be able to identify the parts of a spider, the life cycle and name at least 3 facts they learned. We will also be doing some fun Halloween activities.
We are working on the narrative genre writing our very own stories using the new Lucy Calkins curriculum. We have been working with writing partners editing their writing.
