A Peek At What We Are Learning
Reading
We are enjoying a Read Aloud called “ A Fish in a Tree, “ by Lynda Mullaly Hunt and learning about figurative language as we review the 7 strategies of reading. We read independently and begin Guided Reading and Book Club reading.
Writing
Students will write personal narratives and explore realistic fiction. Students will practice editing skills & grammar skills.
Students will be given ten spelling words, in their agenda, to practice each week.
Math
Students will continue studying statistics and probability.
Students should know their math fact goal and practice 5-10 min. each day.
Science
Students will be studying weather. We will define and explore the elements of weather and learn how to collect weather data and read and interpret forecasts.
Social
Studies
Students will continue to study the physical geography of Canada and be introduced to the 7 regions.
Agendas will be used daily to: record reading minutes, reminders, and to communicate our learning goals.
