1. Lab: Designing an Experiment
Objective: You will design an experiment using good scientific methodologies.

2. Procedure: Form groups of 4 students per group
Obtain 18” x 24” newsprint and colored markers
Groups will:
State the problem or question you would like to study
Form a hypothesis (If/then/because)
Describe your controlled experiment
Identify the dependent and independent variable
Include controlled variables
Describe how the results could be recorded and analyzed
Display drawings and discuss experiment with class
