8 Homework A partnership with parents
Reading – daily Spellings – given out on Mondays and tested the following week, scores written in planners MyMaths and Bug Club – set weekly if appropriate. Maths and SPAG CGP books – given out Fridays, due back on Wednesdays

9 Assessing your child… Harold Court Symphony sheets outlining age-related expectations in Reading, Writing and Maths. It is expected that by the end of the year children will have made from summer term to summer term 1 point progress which is ‘good’ progress, it is our aim that together your child will be working at Secure in each core area of the curriculum. The child’s teacher will highlight and date statements in the appropriate column when evidence has been shown repeatedly. Sheets provided are of the criteria for our year group for you to take away

10 Here are samples of our tracking sheets – information is gathered from daily teaching. These are skills which must be accomplished independently. Writing Maths Reading You will notice that some skills are ‘red’ these are key performance indicators – which if children are Working below their age we will look at children acquiring the ‘red’ skills of the previous year for catch up Purposes. The tables at the bottom are indicators for children that they need to aim to be on green by the end of The year. These sheets are used to inform you as parents of progress each term in reports that we write.

12 Miscellaneous information…
Presentation of work - children are encouraged to present their neatest work at all times, and to work on developing joined handwriting for speed and neatness. SOTW – Sentence of the Week every morning so please ensure your child is on time! Mental Maths daily - children are expected by Year 4 to be confident with times tables, although we will continue to work on the speed and accuracy of these throughout the year. Homework planners – parents should be looking at these regularly and signing them weekly. Parent helpers if you can help at all even if it is for 30 minutes a week please complete the forms here today – you will have to complete a DBS which does cost the school £65.00 each application made. If you want to speak to one of us after school then please feel free to come and have a word in the playground once we have dismissed the class, or we can organise a private meeting in school if necessary via a parent consultation form, available from the office.
