Reading Assignment Introduction Topic Notes Chapter corresponds with lesson Practical Application In-depth explanation COMPONENTS OF AN ONLINE LESSON Every lesson contains the following components: Reading assignment – Each lesson will correspond with a chapter in the textbook Introduction – Each introduction gives the student an application of how the lesson will apply in the field Topic Notes – The topic notes provide a more in-depth explanation of the information in a chapter

Interactive Materials Discussions Video, animation, self-test, etc. Practical Application Discussion Post What effect can severe asthma have on an individual’s lifestyle and relationships? Reply COMPONENTS OF AN ONLINE LESSON (continued) Interactive materials (video, animation, self-test, etc.) – These materials allow the students to interact with the information. This enables students to better comprehend, retain, and recall the information. Students are given an environment to explore the right and wrong answers without penalty. This is especially useful in the Respiratory Therapy field where mistakes can have a lasting impact on a patient’s life. Discussion – Discussions allow students to learn from one another while applying the knowledge they’re learning in class. The aim of a discussion is to prompt students to think in ways that stretch their understanding of a given topic/subject. Discussion question tend to call for reflection, interpretation, analysis, and/or problem solving. This leads to a much more lively learning experience. Click image to play video
