1 Hiring Sarah Worrel

2 Website Goal? To showcase examples of my Digital Media classwork.
Convince potential employers to offer me an interview. Original KPI 25 visitors 10 visitors who visit more than one page Five résumé downloads Three job referrals or name drops on my behalf to an employer

3 Initial Campaign Methodology
Every other day, post a facebook message and a twitter message to my website with a campaign link. The first posting will be in the morning, the second (two days later) will be about six hours later, and then the third (another two days later) will be about six hours after that. Continue from Day One to Day 13. Then when looking at campaign results, I can maximize timing with my social networking contacts for the second campaign.

4 Goal Completions for 1st Campaign
Unique visitors: 85 (initial goal of 25). Visitors going to more than one page: 98 (initial goal of 10). Duration 57 seconds average. Five completions at two minutes. Clicked link: 0.

5 Revised KPI for 2nd Campaign
25 visitors 10 visitors who visit more than one page 15 résumé views One link click Five clicks on ribs video link (unposted) Five clicks on tilapia video link (unposted) Five clicks on effects video link

6 Proposed Methodology Post a link on facebook and twitter every other day. Post to specific content (pages) that I did not highlight in the first campaign, such as videos or specific projects.

7 Actual Methodology Posted link to Titles and Effects video produced for Digital Video Tools class to facebook and twitter on November 13th. Posted link to Uriel sorting quiz produced for JavaScript final project to facebook and twitter on December 11th. (failed to do any other campaigning due to demanding JavaScript class. I ended up crying silently in class before turning in a broken final project. The professor and I had gotten it working, but then he gave me back different files than the ones we had worked on. He fixed it after class, but I still had to present it that way.)

8 Goals overview

9 Results 25 visitors – 9 unique visitors
10 visitors who visit more than one page – 58 completions 15 résumé views (not campaigned. 0) One link click (not campaigned. 0) Five clicks on ribs video link (unposted) Five clicks on tilapia video link (unposted) Five clicks on effects video link (not sure this was set up properly)

10 Peaks from 2nd Campaign

11 Changes Implemented to Website before end of 1st Campaign
Added Web Analytics and Digital Media courses pages. Revamped indexes of HTML and CSS, JavaScript I, and JavaScript II pages to include pictures. Updated résumé to show I am a writer.

12 Other Wording is key. The audience needs to know why they should spend their time clicking your link. This latest campaign might have gone better with a teaser question like: Are you an elf, merperson, faery, human, or unicorn? Take the Uriel quiz to find out! Instead I said, “The current, mostly-working, version of the JavaScript Final Project – a sorting-type quiz” Perhaps not the best attention-getter. The screenshot of source/medium report looks like the goals overview screenshot, so I did not include what looks like a duplicate report.

13 Any questions?
