1 Introducing eCentral Seminar A guide on how to book on a course

2 What is Seminar? Seminar is the new way of booking onto our classroom courses It’s a quick and easy way to manage your course bookings with Automatic approval request to your manager Option to join a waiting list Automatic confirmations and notifications Certificates of Attendance

3 How do I access a course? All our e.learning and classroom courses will be available in one place through e.Central

4 How do I access eCentral?
Always use Google Chrome Log in Not got an account? Complete the new starter form on the Information Governance web page

5 What courses can I do? Always discuss your learning and development requirements with your manager. Use your 1 to 1 meetings and EPRs to identify any training needs Course information will clearly identify who it is aimed at Courses will continue to be advertised on our Learning and Development webpage and Adult Social Care website, as well as Inside Walsall and Weekly Bulletin

6 How do I find a course? Hover over ‘Find Learning’ and click on courses Or use calendar and click on the date

7 How do I book onto a course date?
Open course dates on chosen course Click on ‘view all’ to show all available dates ‘Sign up’ on appropriate date

8 What if my chosen date is fully booked?
Most courses will have been set up with a waiting list. Note: This is only for that particular date You cannot join multiple waiting lists for the same course If you can see the option, ‘Join wait list’ rather than ‘sign up’. Alternatively, select another date

9 Complete details If this is not your manager, contact ‘ Choose Manager’ should only be used for a temporary change, for example, usual manager is on long term absence Your budget code is required in the event of recharges, as detailed in our cancellation policy

10 How does my manager approve my request?
A request will automatically be sent to your manager once you sign up or join a waiting list You will receive notification that your request has been sent to your manager Your manager will then approve or decline your request If your manager declines your request, you will need to discuss with them the reasons why

11 How will I know if my request has been approved?
Following approval, you will receive notification of booking or advised you are on the waiting list Note: Whilst on the waiting list, confirmation will only be received if there is a cancellation and you are randomly chosen to take that place. You are advised to drag a copy of the notification into the appropriate date in your calendar or cancel your request to avoid potential recharges

12 What if I don’t receive a confirmation?
If you do not receive a notification that your request has been approved or declined, check the status of your booking: Hover over ‘my learning’ then click on ‘my bookings’ Check status against course. ‘requested’ means that your manager has yet to action your booking request and you should follow this up with your manager

13 Do I need to enter information into my calendar?
The new system will generate a calendar invite as part of your confirmation Accept the calendar invite and this will automatically enter all information into your Outlook calendar

14 What if I need to cancel my course booking?
Before cancelling, read our cancellation policy Simply locate your course booking and cancel it Click on ‘my learning’ then ‘my bookings’ Open course dates and cancel booking If this option does not appear, contact

15 Complete the cancellation form
Complete ‘cancellation note’ to let us know why you are unable to attend You will receive confirmation of your cancellation Double click the calendar invite to remove the event from your calendar

16 What if a course gets cancelled?
You will receive an automatic notification from Learning and Development in the event that we need to cancel a course Double click on the invite to remove the event from your calendar

17 What if a course date or venue is changed?
You will receive an automatic notification from Learning and Development in the event that we need to change the date of a course Double click on the calendar invite and accept or decline the new date

18 Will I get a Certificate?
A certificate of attendance will be available for you to print off once the course has been signed off as completed by Learning and Development Course completion is identified by Attendance on the course itself (this will be validated through the signed register) Completion of the course evaluation Following attendance at the course, you will receive a notification to complete the course evaluation. You will not be able to access a certificate without completing this

19 How will I know when my Certificate is available?
Your progress on all our courses is identified on your eCentral account. For ‘completed’ courses: Hover over ‘My Learning’ and click on ‘Record of Learning’ Click on ‘Completed Learning’ on the left hand side and scroll down to view courses If the course appears and the ‘progress’ bar is green, you can get your certificate To get your certificate, click on the course, open up ‘Certificate’ and then click on ‘Certificate of attendance’ to ‘Get your Certificate’
