Friday Saturday “ Sunday “ Departure Procedures – Obtain a weather briefing and amend the pre-stored flight plan by calling Leesburg Flight Service. Explain to the briefer that you are amending a pre-stored ADIZ flight plan. Contact the FRO and obtain a release as a C-18 mission. Upon release or contact with Potomac, tell the controller you have a pre-assigned 5126 code. Flight Profile – Fly to the Patrol area at the appropriate altitude, using the assigned tactical callsign and code. Upon entering the Bridge Patrol operations area, drop to 1,300 ft AGL, 90 Knots. Report “on Patrol” to Bridge ops DC aircraft will depart DAA using DC Wing’s normal FRZ procedures (call sign and squawk and NCRCC calls etc…….). Aircraft will proceed to Bay Bridge, land, activate Bridge Patrol “canned” flight plan with Leesburg and assume MD Wing call sign and code. To return home, reverse the procedures Weather Visibility – not less than 4 miles for non-instrument rated pilots and 3 miles for current instrument pilots Ceiling – not less than 2,000 msl, no negative trend Wind – not more than 25 kts, 15 kts crosswind or aircraft POH limit, at any landing airport Communications Maintain constant communications with Potomac TRACON on the assigned frequency. Reports to Bridge Ops will be on CAP channel 40 or the preprogrammed Bridge channel. Monitor guard on and, on the eastern side of the patrol, W29 traffic on Bay Patrol Duty Officer will be available CAP channel 4, for any required ground coord Report into Bridge Command every 20 minutes Frequencies CAP primary – channel 4 CAP secondary – 122.9 Bridge Operations – CAP channel 40 or the preprogrammed channel Bay Bridge Airport – 123.0 West ADIZ approach – East ADIZ approach – Potomac TRACON, usual in the Bay area – or 119.7 Phone contacts Martin Mission Base – Annapolis Mission Base – Bridge Operations – Bridge Patrol State Contact – Leesburg Flight Service – Potomac TRACON – or USCG Ops MD Dept of Natural Resources Marine Police Bridge Patrol officer– or (Maryland Wing DO) (Maj William Parris) Bridge Patrol FRO (Lt Ron Lane) or . DC aircraft radios are programmed differently so ensure you obtain the proper radio frequency from the FRO prior to departure as Ch 40 does not correlate among aircraft.
