Organic shapes – we see them in nature and with characteristics that are free flowing, informal and irregular. Geometric shapes – We see them in architecture and manufactured items.

4 Rhythm The repetition of visual movement – colors, shapes or lines
Movement and rhythm work together to create the equivalent of a musical beat

6 Regular rhythm The repetition of elements that are the same or nearly the same in regular sequence

Positive – is the subject/shape Negative – the background

11 Focal point The focal point of a painting is an area of emphasis that demands the most attention and to which the viewer's eye is drawn, pulling it into the painting. It is like the bullseye on a target, although not as overt.  It is how the artist draws attention to particular content of the painting, and is often the most important element of the painting.
