5 What Does the Foundation Do?
The Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation engages in research and education that promote the vital role of the Certified Dietary Manager as the expert in the profession of foodservice management and food safety.

6 Foundations’ Goals NFEF supports the goals of ANFP and works to strengthen the overall nutrition and foodservice profession. As ANFP’s philanthropic arm, the Foundation is organized to advance the foodservice and nutrition profession to stay ahead of rapid change by fostering innovative thinking, cutting-edge research and new ideas. Our highest priority is research and education for the future.

7 Education The Foundation provides educational opportunities to help advance the careers of promising individuals who are committed to the field of nutrition and foodservice. It also helps support general education initiatives aimed at deepening the knowledge, skills and expertise of everyone in the profession.

8 Best Practices and Standard-Setting
The Foundation supports initiatives that lead to better standards of quality for the nutrition and foodservice profession and to the development of best practices.

9 Research Support The Foundation encourages and supports research intended to help advance the profession and ensure dining experiences for the public that are nutritionally sound, safe and fulfilling.

10 Grant Opportunities Certification Exam Grant-This grant covers the cost of the exam registration fee of $399 Hormel Health Labs Student/CDM Student Success Grant- These grants will be awarded to students accepted into (or currently enrolled in) an ANFP-Approved Training Program. The grant covers tuition and fees up to $601 plus the $399 fee for the CDM, CFPP exam. Reinhart CDM Exam Preparation Grant- The Reinhart CDM Exam Preparation Grant will be awarded to students pursuing the CDM, CFPP credential. This grant covers the cost of ANFP exam study materials up to $225.

11 Live Meeting Grants Regional Meeting Grant
The Regional Meeting Grant will pay for the recipient's meeting registration, plus a small stipend that will be provided to the recipient in check form at the meeting. Annual Conference & Expo Grant (ACE) The Annual Conference and Expo Grant will pay for the recipient’s Conference registration fees, plus a small stipend that can be used to off-set the cost of hotel and meals.

12 Dues Grants Dues Grants are awarded to members of ANFP experiencing financial difficulties that prevent them from paying their annual membership and certification dues.

Added 100 test questions to be used for pre and/or post tests Cost $200 for approved programs; license for one year Additional $75 for test questions

16 Enrollee/Graduate Lists and Certificates
Enrollee’s name and list sent to ANFP each month Receive communication from us about exam process and membership benefits Creates record in ANFP system Graduate’s name and sent to us within 2 weeks of graduation Verifies student has successfully graduated from program. Certifying Board for Dietary Managers now requesting certificate of completion.

17 Requirement Changes 1.5 - Copy of Certificate
2.3B – Explanation of Precepting 3.1 – Provide syllabi or for online, access to syllabi 4.1 – Examples of 3 different types of assessments

18 Electronic Renewal Submission
Can submit electronically through document sharing Example: Dropbox Electronic submissions must be organized by folders with each requirement, I, II, III, IV, with each document listed with requirement number Advantages? Saves time, money and trees!

19 Student Progression to being Certified

20 Student Progression - Exam Eligibility
Students must Register for the exam and ANFP verifies if eligible Eligibility is determined by graduation date and certificate for pathway I students

21 Student Progression – Activate Credential
Effective June 1, All individuals must activate their credential within one year of passing the CDM, CFPP certification exam.

22 Activation Process Individuals who take the exam as an ANFP member will automatically be upgraded to certified status, with initial certification fee waived one time, and must maintain their Professional membership in ANFP through the following May 31st. Non-ANFP members must pay the certification fee to become certified and therefore eligible to accrue continuing education hours. Those who do not activate will be required to re-test to be eligible for certified status. Direct students to link available in Instructor Resource Center and on CBDM website.

23 Student Progression – Maintain Credential
Pay your certification maintenance fee (every year) Earn the required 45 hrs of CE every 3 years. Of the 45 continuing education hours, a minimum of 9 CE hours must focus on sanitation and food safety. Report your CE hours to the CBDM. Save all CE-related documentation for two three-year certification cycles.
