4 When you arrive each day…
REGISTRATION When you arrive each day… Register your arrival by signing in each day at the main office In the event of an emergency, we must count bodies and yours is one of them! It provides opportunity to ensure PPE and Questions can be asked and answered When you leave each day… Sign out when you leave each day… So that we know we don’t have to search for you To turn in any borrowed PPE

5 Hazards You May Encounter
Nuisance Dust – Courtesy dust masks available, just ask! High noise levels – Use Hearing protection Traffic Tractor Trailers Forklifts – Inside and Outside of the Yard Overhead Cranes – Inside / Outside Machinery Automated – These may move automatically…use caution Mechanical – Please communicate with operator prior to gaining access Sharp edges from cages Heavy Rings and Products Rolling Heavy Product Product Stacks in the Yard Never, Ever, walk between two closely aligned pipes Take caution when entering/exiting pipe rows and stacks – mobile equipment or vehicular traffic may be present! Processes Tip Out Moving Loads Overhead Loads

6 Personal Protective Equipment
Hard hat to prevent damage to your noggin Safety Glasses – due to dust, sparks, and other eye irritants Personal Protective Equipment Safety Vest – so others can see you Gloves to prevent getting cut or burned Steel Toed boots to prevent toe and foot damage Other PPE may be necessary per task and prior to starting the task, it will be provided Hearing Protection. To prevent hearing loss due to high noise levels

7 Special Plant Requirements
Lockout Tagout. If you must enter machinery areas or the batch plant, ensure: 1. You consult or are in the company of the Supervisor of the area prior to entering. Machinery is very unforgiving and can seriously injure or cause death if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time Special training will be required in certain areas of the machinery to eliminate hazards

8 Special Plant Requirements
Green pipe is pipe that has not yet cured. It is important that the pipe have at least 3 minutes of set time prior to being approached or touched. Many plants will have a “3 Pipe Rule” where 3 pipe must be set prior to touching the first placed pipe. Critical Rules. They are simple to remember and easy to understand Plant has 12 critical rules, 5 of which you may encounter*** These are the 5 These are the rules which could lead to very severe injuries or death if not complied with ** There are more rules that could apply if by chance you must complete a special task…always ask if you are unsure.

9 Emergency Plant to insert their emergency protocol in this slide in regard to items like fire, severe weather, medical emergency, etc. It would include: Signals (horns, alarms, etc.) Muster Points or huddle locations Roll Call A map outlining these should be provided to each participant
