2. La voz activa
The subject of the verb usually performs the action, this is called the active voice.
El coche chocó con el árbol.
The car ran into the tree.
The coche/car is the doer/subject of the action.
Chocó/ran is the action.
El árbol/ tree is the receiver.

3. La voz pasiva
Sometimes the subject does not do the action but the action is done to it. This is the passive voice.
El libro fue escrito por el autor.
The book was written by the author.
Notice that if we mention who or what performs the action we use por to say by.

4. La voz pasiva Para formar la voz pasiva, usa:
Receiver + preterite of ser +past part. + por + doer
Your past participle will agree with the reciever.
El dinero fue donado por los candidatos.

5. La pasiva voz
Sometimes we often use the personal se when we don’t have a specific doer.
Se venden los coches aquí.
Cars are sold here.
Se + él/ellos form of the verb (which agrees with the object)
