STEP 1 Once your client has agreed to purchase a Settlers Life policy, pull out the appropriate ExpressApp packet for the state in which you'll be writing the app. STEP 2 Review the Health Questions (inside the ExpressApp packet) with your client to determine which Settlers Life plan he/she qualifies for and complete the ExpressApp worksheet if you choose. This will help walk you and your client through the ExpressApp interview. NOTE, if you do not have an SSN for your client, you must complete a paper application.

20 Settlers Life | How to complete your first ExpressApp…
STEP 3 Call , option 2 for the ExpressApp interview. Remember to have your writing number ready! At the end of the call, the interviewer will tell you: The plan your client was approved for The policy number Any supplemental forms you need to submit via fax

22 Settlers Life How to complete your first ExpressApp

23 Settlers Life ExpressApp FAQs Can Grandparents complete an ExpressApp? Minor grand-children are acceptable. Can you do remote sales? No, you are required to meet face-to-face and all signing parties must be present to complete an ExpressApp. If any signing party is absent, a paper application must be submitted. We are unable to skip ahead during an ExpressApp to obtain voice signatures. Do I have to send a voided check? If a PAC – Draft 1st premium – PAC information is gathered on the call. If premium is collected (direct bill or PAC – collect 1st premium) initial premium must be sent to Settlers Life via fax (using the authorization on the Fax Cover Sheet) or mail. Please include the policy number on the premium sent in. Do I have to use an ExpressApp? No, but you should try. The policy will be issued more quickly resulting in you getting paid faster.

24 Settlers Life ExpressApp FAQs When would I NOT use an ExpressApp?
POA/Guardianship/Custodianship relationship exists for a client who is of legal age of majority and the client cannot complete his/her own interview. Can a husband and wife’s application be done simultaneously? While both can be completed with one phone call, ExpressApp is not currently built to allow two applications simultaneously. Each application requires a separate interview in order to clearly capture information, make the decision, and collect voice signatures. Can I use ExpressApp for companion applications? While this can be completed with one phone call, currently the entire ExpressApp must be completed for each companion application. Will I get referred to underwriting? Most of the time, no. Due to the sensitive nature of AIDS/HIV, these cases will be automatically referred and cannot be discussed during the call. If we receive an MIB hit and the client denies it, we refer to Underwriting. Do I have to have the ExpressApp Packet when I meet with my client? Yes. The ExpressApp packet includes necessary disclosures which must be left with your client.

25 Can I do ExpressApp on Bronze?
Settlers Life ExpressApp FAQs Can I do ExpressApp on Bronze? Yes! Since this is a tiered application process based on the answers to health questions, Gold, Silver, and Bronze (Bronze II in NC) Plans may use ExpressApp. Are paper applications being updated? No Is the application on-line? No, everything is done over the phone.
