Faculty Assembly (Quarterly meetings) Executive Council (bi-weekly meetings) Standing Committees Academic Policy Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Curriculum Faculty Affairs Paulsen Strategic Budget Committee Business of the campus is conducted via standing committees. EC = representative body, (1) leadership for FA, (2) finger in all pies, (3) reviews approves all policy recs from Standing committees (4) primary responsibility for formulating policies, rules, and regulations for UWT APC = reviews and establishes scholastic & educational policy APT (1) advises the Chancellor on p&t cases under review, and on appointments in cases where consultation is needed. (2) coordinates discussion of appointment, promotion, and tenure procedures and expectations across academic units and with administration. (3) recommends policies related to appointment, tenure and promotion to the Executive Council, which may bring them to vote by full FA. CC = authority to review new courses, minors, majors, curriculum (authority delegated from FCAS UW Seattle). FA = investigate and respond to issues of widespread faculty concern including, but not limited to, faculty governance, procedures regarding tenure and promotion, merit, and teaching assess WE ARE YOUR VOICE, YOUR ADVOCATES. We can’t serve you effectively without your help and involvement. Meetings all standing committees & EC are open. Agendas published and posted in advance. You have the committee list, members in each. Contact your unit representative if you want the committee to address something. Or you have an idea to share, project to launch.

Clarify new program review and approval process. Develop guidelines for new programs to address needs of underrepresented students. Investigate campus-wide topics of academic excellence (e.g., writing)
