2. What is the SAGE test?
It is an assessment system used to measure student achievement and growth in the academic areas of math, English, and science.
In plain language, the SAGE test lets teachers and parent know if you are learning at school.

3. What’s the purpose?
Helps teachers know areas that students might need more instruction or help.
Helps ensure that classroom instruction follows the Utah State Core Standards of Instruction.
Helps YOU know areas where you excel and where you need more help.

4. Why take the SAGE and try your best?
SAGE results can help you plan for your future college and career.
By the year 2020, 74% of jobs will require more than a high school diploma.
Helps you apply critical thinking skills to solve problems.

5. Incentives! What?
Any student showing improvement over last year’s scores in any of the three assessed subject areas (Math, Language Arts, Science) will receive a donut from Mr. VandenBosch or Mr. Ward.
Students taking the SAGE who’s scores improve will earn one ticket for each subject in which they show improvement. Up to 3 chances to win!
If you didn’t take the SAGE last year you can still earn tickets if you take it this year by scoring in the “Proficient” category.
Earned tickets will enter you into a grade level drawing to win one of four $25 movie passes – that’s $100 per grade! That means 12 students will be going to see a movie and the school is paying for you to go!

Any T.H. Bell student who is taking the SAGE and improves their score(s) over last year or maintains “Proficient” scores.
