2. Course Description
This unit of study investigates the history of China from 1750 until World War 1.
It involves the study of various features of the Qing Dynasty, conflicts between the Chinese and Europeans during the Opium Wars and the Boxer Rebellion, the movement of Chinese to the Australian goldfields in the 1850s as well as various reasons why the Qing dynasty finally collapsed.
