Directions:
Your poem must have THREE stanzas of FIVE lines each.
The first FOUR lines of each stanza must begin with a subordinating conjunction BUT IT CANNOT BE A COMPLETE THOUGHT.
The LAST line of the stanza CANNOT begin with a subordinating conjunction AND must be a COMPLETE THOUGHT.

The first word of each line must begin with a capital letter.
The first four lines are punctuated with a comma.
The last line is punctuated with a period.

As soon as I take back the club,
Before I swing through,
While I hesitate,
I think about my next shot.
As soon as I approach the ball,

Where I am going to aim,
Wherever the ball ends up,
I will play this hole well.
In order to line up my ball,
As much as I think about it,
So that it goes in,
Because I am a good putter,
I played this hole fabulously.

Whenever I get up,
After the alarm clock has gone off,
Before the sun comes up,
As I stumble to the shower,
I slowly get ready for school.
When I arrive to school,
As I am talking to my friends,
Before classes begin,
While I do my work,
I long to back in my cozy bed.
Before the three o’clock bell rings,
As my mind wanders,
While I write down this last assignment,
Because my last hour class is nearly over,
I know I am just about home free.

Use DIFFERENT subordinating conjunctions…in other words DON’T REPEAT!
Remember to use your notes handout you received last Wednesday. It has a list of subordinating conjunctions on it.
This is class work. Work on it now.
Once you are done with your rough draft, you will need to create a final draft and draw an illustration to go with it.
Whatever you do not finish, you’ll need to complete for homework.
