!Famous books! Jane Austen wrote many famous books. She wrote many different types of books and novels in her time. Some of her most famous books are: Pride and prejudice Sense and sensibility Emma And many, many more!!!!!! Plus they are all set in her present date [the hundreds].

Birth and death Jane Austen was born in Steventon Rectory, Hampshire on the 16th of December In her life Jane did many things and achieved things that lots of other people could not do at that time in history. At the end of her life Jane was still writing. On the 18th of July 1817 Jane Austen died. A few weeks later her body was buried at Winchester cathedral.

Childhood Jane Austen was the 7th child out of 8 children [6 boys, 2 girls] born to William and Cassandra Austen. They were not rich but they were not poor either, her father was a vicar who also tutored boys to earn extra money. In those times it was common for large families to share the upbringing of the children between them. Jane spent time living with a neighbour woman due to an overcrowded house. Her brother was adopted by wealthy childless cousins and Jane would visit regularly which is how she exposed to the English upper classes who she later wrote about. SCHOOLING Jane and her sister were very close and both went to boarding school in oxford. Although after an illness and money issues [they were both girls!] they were brought home to steventon. Therefore from the age of 11 jane educated herself with books from her father’s libary.

Books To Films Many of Jane Austen’s books are now so famous that some of them (pride and prejudice, sense and sensibility etc) have become major tv shows or films!!!!!

Why is Jane Austen popular?
Jane Austen’s novels were not popular in her life time. Although after her death she had a small group of followers. By the end of the 19th century these followers had influensed others grew. Today her books are studied widely in most English classes throughout the world. They are so popular that some of them are now major films and TV drama.
