11 Summary of studies on Micro Irrigation
Studies on Micro Irrigation was conducted by Global Agri Systems (GAS), Andhra Pradesh Productivity Council (APPC) and CIIE-IIM: Ahmedabad. Summary of findings of these findings are mentioned below: Subject GAS APPC CIIE- IIM-A Saving of water - 25-50% 33-50% Saving in Labor 7-18% Rs. 2000/- per acre 35-40% Saving in Fertilizer 28% 21-25% Increase in Productivity 42-52% 25-30% Saving in Energy 31% 937 KWhr/ Ha Increase in Income 20-68% Rs /- per acre Rs /- per Ha

12 Issues regarding attention of States-
Micro Irrigation Submit projects/ proposals under MIF Target for is 16 lakh ha. Implementation to be expedited and the progress to be updated on portal Bihar, Goa, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Assam, Manipur & Meghalaya to submit proposals to facilitate release of funds. Utilization Certificate & physical progress to facilitate release 2nd installment. Audited UC of and previous years. Conduct evaluation/case studies. Also share to this Department, if carried out. High resolution photographs/videos/case studies/success stories etc.

13 Contd… Beneficiary details for the purpose of DBT.
Geo- tagging of assets created under the programme. Link water harvesting/ conservation assets created under PMKSY- PDMC and other programmes with MI to supplement source creation and also for their potential use. Shifting of water guzzling crops from flood irrigation to micro Irrigation Encouraging fertigation Promote Micro Irrigation in irrigation commands More Focus and awareness building for conservative use of water adopting micro irrigation and suitable crop alignment.

14 Micro Irrigation Fund (MIF)
A dedicated fund to be instituted with NABARD with initial corpus of Rs crore approved for & MIF to serve as resource mobiliser to keep up with the pace of implementation and achieving challenging target of Micro Irrigation The Operational Guidelines has been issued to States to enable them to submit projects/proposals. Guidelines also available at pmksy.gov.in

15 Strategy : The lending rate at 3% lower than the cost of raising the fund by NABARD. MIF may be accessed for or innovative integrated projects, including projects in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode MIF may also be accessed for incentivizing micro irrigation through an additional (top up) subsidy over and above the one available under PMKSY-PDMC Guidelines. MIF should not be a substitute for State’s share in PMKSY-PDMC
