1 Simulation Guidelines Winter 2017

2 Policies Tardiness is defined as 1-7 minutes later than start time.
If you are tardy more than 8 minutes, you will be asked to leave resulting in an absence.

3 Policies Attendance Requirements (from the DSN Student Handbook):
Students are required to attend 100% of all clinical/simulation lab/skills lab experiences.  Due to the nature of clinical and lab experiences, students may be scheduled for more hours than the minimum required.  More than one absence in a clinical/simulation lab experience may result in course failure.  If a clinical/simulation/lab experience is going to be missed due to an unforeseen emergency (which must be proved), it is the responsibility of the student to contact the department manager and the clinical faculty at least one hour prior to the start of the experience or absence, or it will be counted as a no call/no show.  Any absence is subject to the $300 rescheduling fee.  This must be paid prior to your clinical or lab being rescheduled.

4 Contact Director of the simulation lab: Kathy Kail MSN, RN
ext. 3658 Office in Annex suite 450

5 Make up simulations There will be only one opportunity for make up simulations. These will be scheduled for week 11 of the quarter. We will try to schedule these around your clinical and didactic schedule. If you miss the make up simulation it will result in a course failure.

6 Cell Phone Policy In order to minimize distractions to other students and faculty teaching, cell phones are to be utilized during breaks and between classes only. During class, cell phones should be off and out of sight. In simulation you may use your cell phone if looking up drugs or other information pertinent to the simulation with instructor approval.
