5. Egg’s Journey: The OVA is OVULATED out of the OVARY
(the egg pops out of the ovary)
The sperm meets the egg in the FALLOPIAN TUBE
The sperm and egg join and their DNA mixes
A fertilized egg is called a ZYGOTE
The cells within the zygote will divide and in about a week there will be about 100 cells!
A zygote that is about 100 cells big is called a BLASTOCYST
Once the blastocyst enters the uterus it is ready to IMPLANT
The process of IMPLANTATION is when the blastocyst burrows into the ENDOMETRIUM which is the nutrient rich lining of the uterus.
