Protein Synthesis Step 2: Translation

Translation Translation is the process of making RNA into proteins. It’s like translating from nucleic acid language to protein language. Translation occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell.

Translation RNA is a long change of nucleotides.
Three nucleotides code for one amino acid. Codon: three nucleotides coding for one amino acid. mRNA

Translation Amino acids bind together with peptide bonds.
The long chain of amino acids is called a polypeptide chain. A stop codon signals the end of the poly-peptide chain.

Translation tRNA carry amino acids to the ribosome to make the proteins. On one end of the tRNA is an amino acid on the other end is an anticodon. An anticodon has the opposite sequence as the codon meaning it will match up with it (A-U, G-C).

Translation Codon Chart is use to translate from codons to amino acids!!!!

When a question asks you to translate, you need to use the mRNA and look up the amino acid in the codon chart.
