3 3 1. Dispatching an expert for ATPF Joint Exhibition 2008

4 4 (1) What is JETROs expert? ATPF will hold a Joint Exhibition in September 2008. Tokyo International Gift Show (TIGS) is one of the largest exhibitions in Asia on all gift items. It prides the highly qualified items for buyers from all over the world. JETROs expert is acquainted with the Japanese market of gifted items. The expert will help your organization select companies as well as provide consultation of items to match with the Japanese market needs. It is for only ODA-recipient economies.

5 5 (2)The aim of dispatching the expert to TPO To make deals with Japanese buyers. The expert will provide useful tips to the potential exhibitors in your economy on how to get into the Japanese market through the workshop, and shall give advises individually upon requests. To stabilize the quality of the products at the ATPF Zone. The expert will make evaluations on each companys products from various perspectives.

6 6 (3) Details of the workshop by the expert Lecture: Companies willing to participate in the TIGS 2008 are encouraged to attend the workshop. The expert will provide information on marketing trends of gift items in Japan. Individual consultation: Each company may bring its products. The participants will discover clues from the experts advice for modification of their products.

7 7 (4) Arrangement by each TPO and JETRO Expense TPOJETRO Transportation for expert between airport, hotel, workshop site, etc. Space (room) to hold the workshop Equipment (PC, projector, screen, microphone, etc.) Hand-out materials if needed. Drinks during the workshop if necessary Air tickets for the expert Accommodation for the expert Translator fee Consultation fee for the expert Master copy (such as an expert s power-point presentation) will be provided by JETRO in advance.

8 8 (4) Arrangement by each TPO and JETRO Preparation TPOJETRO Announcement of the workshop to each company Making an attendants list Selecting companies that receive personal consultation service from the expert Setting up the room for the workshop Moderating of the workshop Contents of the workshop Consultation service for selected companies Reservation of flights and accommodation for the expert Arrangement of a translator

9 9 (5) Responses from TPOs 6 TPOs applied for accepting the expert. CITEM, FNCCI, MNCCI, NAFED, SLEDB, VIETRADE Notice: The expert will not be dispatched to all the economies that requested for the expert. JETRO will individually contact each TPO whether they can meet all the requirements on hosting the expert. In early February, ATPF WLM secretariat will inform each TPO where to dispatch the expert.

10 10 (6) Schedule January 16: Deadline (Closing of request forms) Mid-January: Arrangement: JETRO individually contacts and confirms with each TPO if they meet the requirements. Coordinate the itinerary of the expert. Early February: Announcement of the destination of the expert. Begin preparation of the workshop. March: Dispatch the expert.

11 11 2. Setting up the Concept Area

12 12 (1)What is the Concept area and Objectives? Concept Area will be placed at the entrance of the ATPF zone. Highlighted products from each economy are shown in the Concept Area. Objectives: To express diversity in Asia, a key phrase for the next ATPF joint exhibition. To guide visitors to understand and raise their interest in products at the ATPF Zone. To catch visitors eyes, draw them to the ATPF Zone, and keep them remain there for a certain time.

13 13 (2) Details of the Concept Area Area: It may take up about 50 to 60 sqm, (about 6 booths) Cost: JETRO will bear the cost for space and decoration. Exhibit items: Each economy is asked to present 1 to 2 products from exhibiting companies. Selection: JETRO will select the items for the Concept Area taking into account of recommendations from each TPO and comments given by the JETROs expert acquainted with the Japanese market.
