2 WE WON THE FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR!
However Britain owes that $$$. And they think the Colonists should pay for it.

3 Proclamation Line of 1763 Great Britain does not allow colonists to settle in the Ohio territory. Mainly because the Iroquois were promised that land.

5 Stamp Act Taxed all legal papers such as receipts, licenses, newspapers, pamphlets, playing cards, wills, mortgages etc. This tax hit all colonists!

6 Townshend Acts Taxes on Tea, Glass, and many others. Ended with the Boston Massacre (except for Tea)

7 Boston Massacre People in Boston taunt British Soldiers.
A Shot was fired, but no one could tell who did it. 5 Colonists Died. Soldiers were set free because they didn’t start it.

8 Because of the Townshend Acts…The Boston Tea Party
Angry Bostonians dressed as Indians and raided a Tea Ship and dumped the Tea overboard.

Boston Port Bill - closed the harbor until the cost of tea was repaid. Quartering Act - troops are housed in private homes of colonists Declare Martial Law

British troops march to Lexington and Concord to get weapons 1775 Paul Revere – “The British are coming…” Minute Men rally to defend Concord. “Shot Heard round the World”
