Key statements: Theories explain observations that a scientists makes; theories are stronger than a hunch that one person makes Example: An example of a theory is the theory of plate tectonics, which states earth’s surface is divided into plates that move How I finished the “Models” door: Definition: Models represent something in the natural world Key statements:They are useful when things are too big, small, or difficult to study; models can be computer programs and math formulas Example: Maps are an example of a model of earth. How I finished the “Laws” door: Definition: Laws describe a basic principle of nature that always occurs under certain conditions Key statements:Laws can be a statement or a mathematical equation; every branch of science has their own laws Example: One example of a law is the law of inertia, which states that objects in motion stay in motion until a force acts on them Now you finish the other 2 the same way.
