3. Science is – the investigation of the NATURAL world – the new information that results from those investigations. Science is in our everyday lives and jobs… firefighters, police officers, teachers, and even the clerk at 711 use science in their jobs.

Scientific Method Ask Questions Make observations “ I wonder…” Do your research Find out more about the subject Understand the vocabulary Hypothesis “I think that ….will happen, because…” This is NOT a guess… it is based on the research that you did. Experiment Keep CONTROL Test at least 3 times Document EVERYTHING!!! Analyze What happened? Why did that happen? Was your hypothesis supported or not? Draw conclusions Think…infer…what did you decide or conclude from this experiment? Communicate Explain your purpose, research, experiment and data.
