4. SLCS Dress Code REGULAR UNIFORM
Grade 6, 7, 8: Light blue or royal blue short or long sleeve polo shirt with SLCS logo, khaki colored pants, shorts, skirt, skorts, or Capri’s, and shoes. Shorts and skorts must be no higher than six inches from the middle of the student’s knee. Skirts must reach to the top of the student’s knee.
GYM UNIFORM
Grades K through 8:
Gray t-shirt with SLCS logo and/or crewneck SLCS logo sweatshirt (no hoodies) *SLCS issued spirit wear t-shirts also may be worn. All Spirit Wear must have the school name on it.
Plain gray or black sweatpants or plain gray or black shorts
Sneakers
Students are not permitted to wear pants that are skin-tight.

6. Notes to the Teacher
Please bring in notes for: *Early dismissals *Change of transportation *Absences *Missing after school clubs

7. Lockers Students are allowed to go to their lockers 3 times a day:
Once in the morning before homeroom
Once before lunch
Before specials (dismissal)
Once students begin bringing winter jackets to school, they will be permitted to return to their lockers quickly after lunch as well. ??

Follow all classroom procedures and SLSC policies in the Code of Conduct the first time.
Always try your best!

9. Rules and Consequences
Students are responsible for following established classroom rules and procedures, as well as the SLCS code of conduct at all times.
Consequences for not doing so include at least one of the following:
Guideline Infraction Notice (warning),
Parental contact (planner note or phone call),
Reflective essay/action plan,
Detention (recess/lunch/after or before school),
Discipline referral

10. Guideline Infraction Notice
Classroom Infraction Notices are given to students who are not following classroom rules or guidelines, or who are behaving inappropriately.
When a student is given an Infraction Notice, they:
Read it.
Sign it.
Make a better choice.
Give to the teacher at the end of class and discuss.
3 Infraction Notices = 1 after school detention

22. Personal Responsibility Forms/HW
Students begin with 100% participation grade at the beginning of each trimester.
Students are expected to come to class each day with the required materials and any homework due for that day.
If students do not have the required materials with them or have forgotten their homework, students must fill out the classroom log and a PRF to be signed by a parent.
1 PRF = -5 from participation grade
HW is generally every day for math, 2-3 times a week for science.

23. Conferences and Portfolios
Starting in 6th grade at SLCS, students are expected to become more reflective students.
Students will develop a portfolio for each trimester and present that portfolio to you, their parents and family, at their conference.
Students set goals in each subject area.
Students reflect on mistakes made in order to avoid making similar mistakes in the future (Error Analysis).
