2 Highlight of Current Activities
Coordination between standardization and business model in Japan Commercial IPTV service is widely spreading to the public in Japan IPTV functionality being installed in TV sets. Standardization in TTC Consensus-building: IPTV operators (telecom operators), broadcasters and manufactures Upstream activity to ITU-T IPTV-GSI Geneva, July 2009

3 Strategic Direction Goal : Provide standardized IPTV service to the public all over Japan IPTV services can be received by mass production retail TV sets as well as by STB (Set Top Box). IPTV functionality being installed into TV sets Use common key components of broadcasting receiver IPTV operators harmonized IPTV specification documents with broadcasters and manufactures for future expansion of IPTV services.
