2 U.S. Constitution…..Why? What caused the delegates to return to Philadelphia to the Constitutional Convention to create a new framework for our government? What key event showed just how necessary the Constitution was?

3 U.S. Constitution….What? The U.S. Constitution created ____ branches.
In order to prevent one branch from becoming too powerful, delegates included the principle of __________________. Because Americans were still wearily mindful of their experience under the King and his abuse of power, the delegates created a ___________ government so it could not do whatever it wanted.

7 Use Your Imagination Think of Parkland as our nation. The boundaries of our nation are the boundaries of our campus. Find a role for the following: President Vice-President Congress Judicial Branch Law Enforcement Military State Governments Citizens

Answer the following questions based on if Parkland was our nation: What type of government do we have? What freedoms do you not have that Americans do? Why do you think schools are not a Democracy? How would you change the way Parkland is governed? (Would this really work?)
