5 Annual Athletic Physical and Rank One Paperwork
Athletes must have an annual current pre-participation physical and Mandatory Athletic Participation Forms on file prior to participation in athletic activity -tryouts, practice, or games. Check your status at: If you have any questions please our Head Athletic Trainer at PHS, Michael Henry, at

6 Expectations for the Athlete & Parents
Prosper ISD Athletic Handbook The Student Athlete Athletics at Prosper ISD is a privilege; furthermore, a student is not required to participate in athletics to graduate from high school. Participation in athletics is a choice; therefore, student athletes are required to conduct themselves with pride and dignity. Because participation in athletics is a choice and not a privilege, a student athlete who violates general policies or procedures will be subject to discipline/consequences.

8 Expectations for the Athletes & Parents
From our Players: Get an education - Pass ALL classes Be respectful to your teachers Give great effort – in practice as well as games Respect coaches & teammates Be honest in all dealings Keep up with and take care of equipment that is issued Commitment to the TEAM – Be here and be here on time Communicate when you are not going to be here Absolutely no HAZING From our Parents: Support the “program” – TEAM Unity, Family, One Call Coach Salinas if there is an issue. Please keep in mind that the coaches work hard to place our athletes in a position to be successful.

9 Athletes are Students First During the period of ineligibility
UIL No Pass – No Play Athletes are Students First Academics are a priority and it is the responsibility of the athlete to stay on top of their grades. Athletes are required to report current grades from Skyward to coach once a week. If an athlete is failing at District Wide Eligibility Date they are ineligible for 3 weeks. (2018/19 eligibility calendar on Reynolds athletic homepage) During the period of ineligibility Athlete will practice, but will not be able to participate or travel to games. Athletes may regain eligibility at the 3 week period if they are passing ALL classes. Tutoring is mandatory before or after school depending on grade level.

10 PISD Athletic Trainers and Injuries
Coaches need to be notified if an athlete is injured during practice, game, or other activities if it will interfere athletics. Coach Henry or Coach Tutton, PISD trainers are available before and after school for consultation and treatment for injuries. The trainers are located at the indoor facility at Prosper High School. A doctor or trainer note will be needed if the injury prevails. Injured athletes are required to be at practice and dressed out.

11 Supplemental Insurance
Prosper I.S.D. has a supplemental insurance policy that covers our athletes. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE POLICY IS A SUPPLEMENTAL POLICY. Athletes/parents must file on their personal insurance before any claims will be paid by the supplemental policy provided by the district. THE SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE ELIMINATION OF "OUT OF POCKET” EXPENSE. If an accident occurs, see the Athletic Trainer for claim forms or additional information. Additional accident insurance is available for purchase (see the athletic trainer.)

12 PISD All Sports Pass Valid at ALL home Middle School and High School athletic events EXCEPT VARSITY FOOTBALL,Tournament games or Playoff games. NO REPLACEMENT cards. If the card is lost you must purchase a new card ($50/student and$75/parent). Additional information can be found on the PISD Athletic website. See Coach Salinas if you would like to purchase a card. **ALL Reynolds Athletes will be issued an athletic pass**

13 Parent Meetings All coaches are more than happy to meet with parents to discuss your child. Coaches will not discuss playing time or other players. Parents should encourage players to talk with coaches prior to parent meetings if your athlete has concerns about anything. We are here for the athletes and available to help the them problem solve any concerns they might have from athletics to school. Parent meetings will be scheduled. We will not meet with a parent after the completion of a game. Parents are welcome to call/ and we will be glad to meet. Athletes are encouraged to attend meetings with their parents.

15 Uniforms & Practice Gear
School provides game uniforms & practice gear Shoes, knee pads, headbands, socks, sweats, & undergarments are athlete’s responsibility (black, white, or Prosper green only) Volleyball will be permitted to wear black spandex inseam – at least 2 ½ “ long (shorts must be worn over them when not in gym)

16 Daily Practice & Locker Room Expectations
All girls expected to workout everyday; paper & pencil assignment for those who don’t workout. Practice gear (shirt tucked in) , tennis shoes, hair up, no jewelry Prosper green, grey, white, or black sweats needed by November (no large logos except for Prosper) Locker rooms are the responsibility of the athletes - keep clean NO PHONES in use in locker rooms! Athletes are only permitted in their assigned locker room. Game Day Expectations Athletes are expected to stay after school on game days (dinner can be delivered to office) All athletes are expected to stay for all games unless prior (1 day) permission granted All athletes will ride the bus to away games. Athletes may ride home with parents (parents must sign athlete out)

17 Practice Schedule (example)
7th Grade – before school & 1st period Monday, Tuesday, & Friday –6:45 am (doors open 6:30am) Wednesday 7:15 am (doors open 7:00am) Thursday (game day) – 3:25-4:00 (after school) 8th Grade – after school & 8th period Monday, Tuesday, & Friday – 2:30-4:15 pm (pick up 4:15pm) Wednesday 3:25-4:45 pm (pick up 4:45 pm) Thursday (game day) 8th period only

18 Reynolds Lady Eagle Volleyball
Tryouts - August 20-24, 2018 Assessed Skills: Passing Setting Hitting Serving 3 Teams per Grade Level (Green, Black and White) ~34 Total Coaches may move players among teams throughout the season based on performance. Results will be posted by student id number on the Volleyball Website by 4:30pm on Friday, August 24th. Practice will begin on Monday, August 27th.

19 Tryouts will evaluate the following skills:
Serving skills including accuracy and location Passing skills including serve receive and accuracy Hitting skills including accuracy and location Setting skills including accuracy Knowledge of game rules & regulations Athletic Endurance and Agility Endurance Expectation: 8th mile run <9:00; 7th mile run < 9:45 Attitude, Teamwork, and Hustle

20 Reynolds Eagle & Lady Eagle Cross Country
Practices will start Monday, August 20th, 3:30-4:30 Monday - Friday afternoons Wear green and greys. We will issue workout gear if not in athletics. Meet schedule in Rank One - meets on Monday Evenings with one Saturday Meet.

Teams: Green, Black, White, Preliminary Tryouts: Approximately 4 days Season Calendar Dates from November -February Preseason: Shooting, Passing, Dribbling,Communication First Day of Tryouts Season expectations

22 Reynolds Lady Eagle Track
No more than 6 meets including Districts. 3 or 4 athletes per event except for long distance (up to 6) 7th and 8th grade individual teams 14 individual open events and 3 relay events (coaches choice). Athletes are encouraged to try all 14 events to find their specialty. Athletes may enter 3 running and 2 field or vice versa per UIL. We will try to max out every athlete. Practices Running workouts: during each athletic period and after school Field/Relay/Hurdle practices are after school

23 Reynolds Lady Eagle Fall/Spring Sports
Wrestling (Fall/Winter) -Coach Burnett Tennis (Spring) -Coach Shepherd Soccer (Spring) - Coach Alda If interested in these sports, please sign your name and contact information to correct list. The high school coaches are collecting names of those interested in participating.
