7 A differentiated framework?
BACP has recently introduced an evidence-based process for developing competence frameworks BACP received Board Approval in September 2018 to develop a ‘differentiated’ coaching competence framework This framework will be unique in that it will recognise the skills, abilities and knowledge that overlap with therapy, yet remain unique to coaching A competence framework provides the critical underpinning architecture for any BACP recognition and/or endorsement As the framework progresses, the type of recognition scheme that BACP will offer for coaching will become clearer, but there is an expectation that some form of endorsement programmes will be developed The work on the coaching framework will commence in Autumn 2019 Working with Coaching: Competence & Beyond
