A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH
Romans 8:13
2
For if you live according to the flesh you will die,
but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13
3
Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh…
Romans 8:5 The mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law… Romans 8:7
4
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now, you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Colossians 3:5-7
5
For if you live according to the flesh you will die,
but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13

For if you live according to the flesh you will die,
but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

“If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away
“If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30
10
“If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.” Matthew 18:8
11
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” Matthew 7:21-23
12
Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5
13
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13
14
…And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:17
15
Be killing sin for the sake of your joy.
For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.” Psalm 32:3-4
16
Be killing sin for the sake of your assurance.
“No man can say he hates sin if he lives in it.” Charles Spurgeon
17

Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:12
18
