Which two European nations fought during the French and Indian War? Who were the Sons of Liberty, and what did they do? Who were the Liberty Boys, where were they from, and what did they oppose?

Which two European nations fought during the French and Indian War? – France and Great Britain Who were the Sons of Liberty, and what did they do? – group of Patriots who opposed Great Britain/their laws; organized protests, spies, etc. Who were the Liberty Boys, where were they from, and what did they oppose? – branch of the Sons of Liberty; from Georgia; opposed the Stamp Act

3 What’s happened and what’s going on?
The French and Indian War has ended; the Proclamation of has been given. The Stamp Act has been passed. In Georgia in 1765, a group o f men form the “Liberty Boys,” a branch of the “Sons of Liberty,” to protest the Stamp Act. Britain continues to levy taxes against the colonists. In addition, colonists are forced to “quarter” (house and feed) British soldiers at their own expense.

4 What’s happened and what’s going on?
The Boston Massacre occurs in 1770, followed by the Tea Act and the Boston Tea Party in 1773. Britain then passes a series of “Intolerable Acts.” In response, the First Continental Congress meets in Philadelphia and issues the Declaration of Independence, America’s breakup letter to Britain.
