1 What issues will we face with feeding the growing planet?
1. Growing World Population -Birth Rates -Quality of Life -Famine 2. Solutions -Improving economics -Food production -legal actions 3. Less-Developed countries (LDC’s) -economic issues -infrastructure issues -Grassroots

2 Birth Rates In the last 200 years the population has gone from 1 to 6 billion. Birth rates are the number of births per 1000 people. This strains our planets population limit.

3 Quality of life This rise in population affects natural resources and how they are spent The more people you have the less resources some will get. Capitalism promotes resources to the location of more funds. Quality of life is the level of living you enjoy.

4 Famine With the rise in population you can have famine created from a lack of goods Natural disasters as well as drought can produce famine. Wars can create man-made famine

5 Improved Economics With improved economics people last longer due to added benefits and healthcare With stronger economies less children are created due to education as well as parents no longer needing multiple children to take care of them. Better schools, hospitals, water system, and many more that promotes longer lives.

6 Food production Countries have tried many things to fix famine.
The Green revolution was the cross breeding of plants to produce greater yields. Biorevolution was the altering of plants genetics for greater improvements, from lager produce, to longer ripening times.

7 Legal actions One of the last ways to fix famine and population growth is limiting populations Governments might take away from personal freedoms Increased females education and freedoms

8 LDC’s Economic issues These issues occur most in LDC’s
They lack investment, infrastructure, technology, healthy and educated workers. Lasting effects of imperialism. Some countries seek investment and loans.

9 Infrastructure issues
Because they do not have money they cannot makes schools and hospitals Because they do not have schools they do not have an educated workforce Because they do not have hospitals they do not have healthy workers Because they do not have roads and railroads its harder to move goods and people. All this limits and prevents them from advancements.

10 Grassroots Grassroots developments are small, community size projects and improvements to help lift the poor. Can be things from small schools created by the peace corps, to housing developments from the government for a certain city. Helps communities needs and raises standard of living.
