As a result of the Berlin Conference, it can be inferred that Europeans did not think very highly of the Africans. For example, African leaders were not invited to contribute to the conference. This shows a lack of respect toward the people of Africa. Also, Europeans felt superior to Africans because of the popular belief of Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism fed into Europeans sense of national pride and dominance over “inferior” groups of people.
