Constitution - The Preamble explains the purposes of the Constitution, and defines the powers of the new government as originating from the people of the United States. All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives. Government - representative democracy Federalism - system of government in which a written constitution divides power between a central, or national, government and several regional governments Bill of Rights - things guaranteed that the government can’t deny a citizen Freedom
