250 AC Jondishapour university in actual Khouzistan province was an important scientific center, especially in the field of Medicinal Plants based drugs. This university had also a hospital and produced different kind of herbal based drugs.
In 550 AC, a world medical congress which gathered medical practitioners from all over the world was organized in Tysphon.
