NeoFirma’s independent oil and gas producing customers required cost-efficient technology solutions. NeoFirma wanted to offer its clients both Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). It had specific architecture requirements, including capabilities for multitenancy for client accounts, rapid setup of new accounts, and the ability to store, manage, and query large volumes of structured and unstructured client data.

NeoFirma chose Microsoft Azure to deploy its latest generation of energy software through an SaaS model, and it leverages Azure IaaS capabilities as well. NeoFirma’s solution uses Azure Web Apps to provision Azure SQL databases and Azure Storage to manage client data. NeoFirma uses Azure Visual Studio Team Services to manage its source code and has implemented the Azure Backup solution to ensure a high level of availability for client data. Additionally, NeoFirma’s solution uses Azure Storage interoperability and Azure recovery services integration.
