7 Classroom Expectations
1. Respectful- I pay attention during lessons and discussions. I treat my classmates and teachers with reverence. 2. Responsible- I follow directions and complete my assignments on time. I use my time wisely. 3. Ready- I bring all assignments, materials and supplies needed for my day.

8 Positive Panther Card Students will have a Positive Panther Card to monitor and track their good behavior. Students will work toward a weekly goal to receive a classroom reward.

10 Consequences On a daily basis: -Mark out a star on their Panther Card
-Phone call home -loss of privilege -seat change -PBIS form sent home for parent signature **Severe behavior will result in an immediate discipline referral

11 Panther Planner Students must write their homework each day in their planner. Parents need to look at their child’s planner each day.

12 Graded Papers Progress Reports
Sent home each Wednesday Papers should remain at home unless otherwise noted Progress Reports Sent home in the take home folder Parents sign and return the next day

13 Dismissal Changes Temporary and permanent dismissal changes: parent note should be sent to the homeroom teacher Always include rainy day plan If student is a car rider on rainy days you will need to get a car rider tag/number Include rainy day plan if change is to a walker **Changes to back walker must be approved by an administrator. ** To insure the safety of our student phone calls pertaining to dismissal changes cannot be accepted.

14 Class work and Homework
Class work must be completed in class Major class work (tests & projects) is 40% of their grade Minor class work (class assignments & quizzes) is 50% of their grade Other (homework & participation) is 10% of their grade Special note: Word Work assessments count as a minor grade for Language Arts. There is no retest

15 Math-Math worksheet and fact fluency given on Monday and will be due on Friday.
ELA- Reading Passage given on Monday and will be due on Friday or Word Work given on Monday and will be due on Friday.

16 Late Classwork Graded according to KISD policy
1 day late = 10 points deducted 2 days late = 20 points deducted 3 days late = 30 points deducted 3+ days = zero is assigned

17 Retests Students earning below 70% on science, social studies, and math tests (except word work assessments) have the opportunity to retake the test, based on teachers discretion Teacher provides re-teaching The highest grade that can be recorded in the grade book is a 70. Example – original grade = original grade=40 - retest grade=85 -retest grade= 60 - grade book grade =70 -grade book grade = 60

18 Dismissal/Drop Off Information
Remember that students cannot be removed from dismissal lines All permanent car riders should have a typed tag to hang in the window and each student should have a tag with a number on it to wear School begins at 8:20. If parents are still in the parent drive at this time, you must park and enter the school to sign the child in Students may be dropped off as early as 7:45 a.m., and they will wait in the cafeteria.

19 Snack Students can bring a healthy snack and water to drink.

20 Field Trip Third grade will be going to The Children’s Museum in March.

21 STAAR Dates Math: May 14th Reading: May 15th
