4. Absolute Location
Absolute location describes a place’s exact position on earth. Some call absolute location a geographic address.

5. Geographers identify the absolute location by using two types of imaginary lines around the Earth: latitude and longitude.

Morehead City’s Absolute Location is: ° N, ° W

8. Relative Location
Relative location explains where a place is by describing a place near it.

9. Example:
Morehead City is about 40 miles from Jacksonville.
