IXL: F.5, F.6, F.7 First, let’s… Write a goal at the top of your evaluation sheet. What do you hope to accomplish during this discussion? Trade Discussion Evaluation papers with your partner. Arrange the desks in a circle. Make sure you can see everyone’s eyes in the circle without moving. Discuss expectations! Wait for your turn to speak Someone who hasn’t spoken yet should get priority Don’t forget to pay attention to your partner. As we discuss, you should be tallying any time they ask a question, respond, and refer to the text.

IXL: F.5, F.6, F.7 After discussion… Finish your partner’s evaluation. You need to: Write a few comments (3-4) about the quality of your partner’s discussion (Did they answer a question particularly well? Did they struggle to refer back to the text?) Rate your partner’s discussion in terms of quantity and quality, and give a brief explantion (3-4 sentences) as to why you gave them the score you did

IXL: F.5, F.6, F.7 After you finish your partner’s evaluation, trade papers back! Then, you need to self- evaluate: Do you agree with your partner’s evaluation? Why or why not? Be specific! What did you do well today? What could you have done better? Respond to each prompt on your handout with at least 3 sentences.
