Ideally this should be used for a whole school assembly. However, if this isn’t possible, this material can also be used as a year assembly or during tutor time.

2. Everything’s changing…
And this year young people in schools across the UK are joining forces to become Champions of Change for BBC Children in Need.

3. This year’s BBC Children in Need is going to be bigger and better than ever before!
We’ve all grown up with Pudsey Bear – you’ll probably associate BBC Children in Need Day with dressing up, having fun with your friends, maybe throwing sponges at teachers… To us, it may be about adding a bit of excitement to an otherwise dull November day. But for lots of children and young people across the UK, it changes lives for the better the whole year through.

5. BBC Children in Need is helping young people in our area right now.
Young people just like us.
As the film shows, BBC Children in Need isn’t just about helping little children – it’s also about changing the lives of young people like us.
The money raised is funding projects in our area right now! In fact, you or someone you know may even have benefited from money raised for BBC Children in Need.
It would be good to add some examples of projects in your area here – visit to find out more

6. Even small amounts can change lives
£1 helps an 11-year-old girl who has been bullied to make friends and grow in self-esteem at her local youth club
£8.50 means a teenage boy with autism can spend an hour at a life skills course where he can learn to travel independently
£10 pays for a music therapy session at a hospice where a six-year-old girl with a brain tumour can have some joy in the last weeks of her life
£20 pays for a therapy session for a young boy with alcoholic parents, helping him understand their illness and manage his anxieties
£40 helps support a 17-year-old girl who was dependent on drugs to turn her life around and find a job
Last year as a school we raised (find out how much and add the total here). This was enough to (add an example of what the money could have been used for using the above examples). The money you all donated really did make a difference.
And this year we want to do even better.

Welcome, everyone! It’s been an amazing couple of weeks, with all sorts of mad fundraising activities going on around school for BBC Children in Need. Now it’s time for us to celebrate!

Over the coming weeks, we’re going to do all we can to raise lots of money for BBC Children in Need in the build-up to the big day on Friday 13 November!
