The denoument is the opposite of the exposition. Remaining plot threads are tied up. The reader learns how the characters will deal with what has happened to them.

8 Conflict Internal: a mental or emotional struggle that occurs within a character External: a struggle that occurs between a character and outside forces, which could be another character or the environment

9 Types of Characters Dynamic: the character goes through an internal change because of the action of the plot Static: a character whose personality does not change throughout the events in the story’s plot
