6 Programme Objectives To provide 150,000 Cub Scouts with the Wildest Birthday Ever experience through a range of targeted events and activities. Raise the profile and understanding of Cub Scouts, including the awareness of the impact of the Cub Scout programme on building character, resilience, leadership and responsibility. Bring together all Cub Scouts and their families to create new friendships and memories. Provide every Cub Scout leader with the information and support they need to run a range of adventurous, challenging and exciting activities. Significantly increase the number of people volunteering within Cub Scouts. Our centenary year gives the opportunity to Involve everyone, both those who are currently members and those who have been in the past. Give more young people the chance to enjoy the magic which is Cub Scouting To celebrate and launch the future of Cub Scouting whilst recognising where we have come to since that launch in 1916 We also aim to raise the profile of adventurous activities as part of a modern, challenging Cub Scout Programme.

9 Inspire Every young person is different, their sense of adventure, their potential, their creativity, their personality and their abilities. No matter what, we put the young person first, we facilitate fun and adventure that allows every individual to shine in their own way. Our unique programme rewards young people to give them confidence in their ability as well as opening up skills that they may not have had the chance to gain or experience. Fun, friendship, adventure, reward and new experiences – that’s what makes the scouts special to hundreds of thousands of young people. A weekly get together with friends that creates long lasting memories - camp fires, rafting, building, running, jumping, climbing, finding, making and contributing in the community. Real life adventure leading to self discovery

We envisage ‘thanks’ events being organised which involve Cub Scouts themselves being the hosts. On Line support will be available to give ideas. Local Adventure camps To meet the adventure objective, we will promote the idea that every Cub Scout should have the opportunity to attend an adventure camp during the year. This may be developed at any level from local pack holidays to large district or county/area events. The important thing is to put adventure at the core of the programme. Scout Camp sites and adventure centres could get on board with these events, offering Centenary packages for leaders to buy into. The Promise Party is the one fixed event. We want everyone to stop and reaffirm their promise at on Friday December 16th 2016. The Promise Parties are designed to be the final part of the programme – a chance to have the traditional party with games, food and the all important Birthday cake. It will be an opportunity to raise the profile of Cub Scouting across the UK
