8 Participants have a duty to inform the IEEE
November 2018 Participants have a duty to inform the IEEE Participants shall inform the IEEE (or cause the IEEE to be informed) of the identity of each holder of any potential Essential Patent Claims of which they are personally aware if the claims are owned or controlled by the participant or the entity the participant is from, employed by, or otherwise represents Participants should inform the IEEE (or cause the IEEE to be informed) of the identity of any other holders of potential Essential Patent Claims Early identification of holders of potential Essential Patent Claims is encouraged Allan Jones Activision

9 November 2018 Ways to inform IEEE Cause an LOA to be submitted to the IEEE-SA or Provide the chair of this group with the identity of the holder(s) of any and all such claims as soon as possible; or Speak up now and respond to this Call for Potentially Essential Patents If anyone in this meeting is personally aware of the holder of any patent claims that are potentially essential to implementation of the proposed standard(s) under consideration by this group and that are not already the subject of an Accepted Letter of Assurance, please respond at this time by providing relevant information to the WG Chair Allan Jones Activision

10 Other guidelines for IEEE WG meetings
November 2018 Other guidelines for IEEE WG meetings All IEEE-SA standards meetings shall be conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, including antitrust and competition laws. Don’t discuss the interpretation, validity, or essentiality of patents/patent claims. Don’t discuss specific license rates, terms, or conditions. Relative costs of different technical approaches that include relative costs of patent licensing terms September be discussed in standards development meetings. Technical considerations remain the primary focus Don’t discuss or engage in the fixing of product prices, allocation of customers, or division of sales markets. Don’t discuss the status or substance of ongoing or threatened litigation. Don’t be silent if inappropriate topics are discussed … do formally object. For more details, see IEEE-SA Standards Board Operations Manual, clause and Antitrust and Competition Policy: What You Need to Know at Allan Jones Activision

11 Patent-related information
November 2018 Patent-related information The patent policy and the procedures used to execute that policy are documented in the: IEEE-SA Standards Board Bylaws ( IEEE-SA Standards Board Operations Manual ( Material about the patent policy is available at If you have questions, contact the IEEE-SA Standards Board Patent Committee Administrator at Allan Jones Activision

12 Participation in IEEE 802 Meetings
Month Year doc.: IEEE yy/xxxxr0 November 2018 Participation in IEEE 802 Meetings Participation in any IEEE 802 meeting (Sponsor, Sponsor subgroup, Working Group, Working Group subgroup, etc.) is on an individual basis Participants in the IEEE standards development individual process shall act based on their qualifications and experience. ( section 5.2.1) • IEEE 802 Working Group membership is by individual; “Working Group members shall participate in the consensus process in a manner consistent with their professional expert opinion as individuals, and not as organizational representatives”. 17 November 2018 Straw Poll Should we have a joint session with on Wednesday AM2? • As the eSports is growing rapidly in China and Korea, VR eSports is being considered as an upcoming new eSports event. For that matter, we see that more and more network ready VR game content will be coming out in the market; hence, it would be great to take a look at the network requirement for VR eSports and this would be a great additional session that the RTA TIG team should also look at. As explained in the previous teleconference meeting, we have the use case scenario for the VR eSports and believe that this topic will be a great interest for both your TIG and the TIG. 20 Submission 1972r7 Straw poll (1)
Do you think it is reasonable to develop a categorization schema of RTA application types? For example, something like table in slide 6 in this submission Yes: 22 No: 2 Need more information/discussion: 2 Don’t know: 0

21 Submission 1972r7 Straw poll (2)
Should RTA TIG discuss if robustness/reliability metric were considered together with latency requirements? Yes: 28 No: 0 Need more information/discussion: 1 Don’t know: 0

22 Submission 1972r7 Straw poll (3)

25 Submission 1973r3 Strawpoll (2)
Do you think it is reasonable to include real time video application requirement to the IEEE Real Time Applications TIG Report [6] (11-18/2009r0)? i.e., 5[msec] or 10[msec] latency together with high bandwidth (>1Gbps) streaming capability Yes: 14 No: 6 Abstain: 5

26 Submission 1978r3 Straw Poll #1
Month Year doc.: IEEE yy/xxxxr0 November 2018 Submission 1978r3 Straw Poll #1 Do you think that applications that require both low latency and high data rate such as VR should be included in the scope of RTA TIG? Y: N: A: Need more further investigations:1 I would like to ask my question as straw polls. First, do you think that applications that require both low latency and high data rate such as AR/VR, 4K/8K video streaming should be included in the scope of RTA TIG? Second, How should we continue our future activity? RTA should be: (a) A separate SG and amendment and target at both PHY and MAC layer technologies. (b) A separate SG and amendment and target at only MAC layer technologies and upper layer solutions. (c) A part of the EHT and follow-on activities and amendmentor self cancellation. Akira Kishida (NTT) John Doe, Some Company

27 Submission 1978r3 Straw Poll #2
Month Year doc.: IEEE yy/xxxxr0 November 2018 Submission 1978r3 Straw Poll #2 How should we continue our future activity? RTA should: (a) Be a separate SG and amendment and target at both PHY and MAC layer technologies. (b) Be a separate SG and amendment and target at only MAC layer technologies and upper layer solutions. (c) Be a part of the EHT and follow-on activities and amendment or self cancellation. (d) Continue discussions and not make a decision at this time. (a): (b): (c): (d): Other:1 I would like to ask my question as straw polls.
