1 MEET THE TEACHER ANCHORS AWEIGH My Favorite Things Teaching Experience
Welcome to fifth grade at Sand Hill Elementary! My name is Ms. Michelle McDonald and I am your child’s Reading and Language Arts teacher for the school year. This is my 17th year teaching, and my first year at Sand Hill. I am super excited for you all to be the first group to welcome me! I have a daughter, Lily, who will be starting sixth grade this year. Trust me, she has plenty of advice to share, since she just left fifth grade.  I am looking forward to an exciting and successful year of fresh learning experiences for your child, as well as myself! I appreciate your help and cooperation as we dive into this new journey together. Also, communication is KEY! Along with notes, s, calls, conferences…our team (Mrs. Osborne and I) will be using Remind.com texting service. Please sign up when you see the info come home; I will gladly help if needed. We are a TEAM, and with your help, I know it will be a pleasant and positive year, while your child learns to become more independent, as a SENIOR of the school!  My Favorite Things Hobbies: reading, spending time with Lily, shopping, and hanging out at the pool or beach Books: inspriational/motivational and anything Dr. Seuss Sports Team: UGA Bulldogs Food: pasta, potatoes, Mexican, & ice cream Colors: green, red, teal, & pink Holiday: Christmas Birthday: July 18th Teaching Experience ANCHORS AWEIGH I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Elementary Education from Armstrong State University. I have taught at three previous schools in K, 1st, 3rd, and 4th. Now I have the pleasure of the oldest – 5th grade! 
