Novelty and/or importance of work. Difficulty and/or complexity of project. The ask that the abstract can be understood on the first read through. Start of simple OK to introduce a complex idea Say where the project is at make sure it sounds like there is plenty of conclusions State strongly potential outcomes of the project State clearly why this is difficult, and no one else in the world could have done it.

6 What they are likely to look for
Best communicate high level science to a lay audience (dumbing-down / accessibility) Quality of Science – Big Ideas IMPACT Potential Financial Impact Improving Quality of Life Number of People Influenced They want to understand it the first time they read it, normally I would recommend using the most simple terms possible but you may want to explain simply why it is important. Could it change people’s lives who and how and when? Think about your story – Daniel NI

13 Three Step Process Abstract Poster Presentation

Two things about you & your research that make you stand out) On A4 sheets write 3 points about what you are doing that are easy to understand and can make someone take notice because of the impact or the excitement of the science.
