2 DCSE Exemplar Paragraph
This screenshot from the Ready Player One trailer depicts the main character wearing goggles that connect him to the virtual-reality world of Oasis. This image connotes the science-fiction genre, adventure, and escape from reality. The reflection from the goggles provides the audience a glimpse of a another possible future which could allow them to escape from their daily boring lives, according to the Uses & Gratifications Theory. In addition, it features a teenaged boy using advanced technology, which would engage the film’s primary audience of teenagers who enjoy action-filled films. This could further allow the primary audience to identify with the main character, and encourage them to be invested in his journey throughout the film. PRIMARY AUDIENCE – TRAILER PARAGRAPH Teenagers who enjoy action-filled films
